My experience from the first time I walked through the door has been extremely positive and my teeth have not looked or been this good for many years. My recent treatment (a crown) was carried out with the utmost care and skill and looks great.

We have written a selection of great articles for our patients to read, such as five ways cosmetic dentistry can make your life better.

Tooth whitening is the process of lightening the colour of your teeth with a whitening gel used either on the outside or inside of your tooth or teeth. Tooth whitening does not cause any damage to your teeth, but you should have a consultation with your dentist prior to any treatment starting.  Dentists will make a custom-made tray from an impression of your teeth. The whitening gel is then inserted into the tray’s and the tray then fit’s closer to your teeth. This process usually takes between 2-4 weeks and should only be carried out under the supervision of your dentist.

Invisalign uses clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth. After having a 3d scan you are able to see what your teeth will look like throughout the process. This scan is then sent to Invisalign digitally to make your retainers. During Invisalign treatment, you will be seen every 4-8 weeks by your dentist for a progress review and given your next set of aligners. The treatment length varies on individual needs but it will usually take between 9 – 15 months.  The aligners are virtually invisible and can be removed for eating as well as brushing. After straightening, you will be given retainers to wear, to keep your smile straight.

Dental implants are essentially a replacement tooth or teeth.  They can be used to replace one missing tooth or several, retain dentures and support small or large bridges.  Dental implants allow you to eat almost anything and have a natural-looking smile. The process takes varying lengths of time depending on whether the tooth is present, as this will need be given time to heal after being removed. This usually takes 8-10 weeks. If the tooth has already been removed it will be quicker. One the dental implant is paired, integration usually takes around 12 weeks.

Cosmetic bonding

Cosmetic bonding is also known as composite bonding and can be used to treat many cosmetic problems, including unsightly stained front fillings and also closing spaces/gaps at the front of the mouth. The process uses composite resin which is attached to the tooth via a strong adhesive and shaped either to restore the original appearance of the tooth or to make it look better. The colour of this composite is matched to your teeth to ensure it looks natural.  This is usually done in a single dentist visit and is a non-invasive process which is more affordable than crowns and veneers.

A veneer is a thin layer of tooth-coloured material which is put onto the front of the tooth to make it look better. The tooth may be discoloured, damaged or you may just want a nicer smile. Veneers can either be built upon the tooth directly using white filling material or some are made of porcelain by a dental technician, from an impression of the tooth.  The colour of the veneer can be selected to match the existing colour of your teeth or make them appear whiter. A veneer is a gentler approach than a crown as only a small amount of enamel has to be removed to fit them.
